Lamellar procedures – these are specialized corneal transplantation techniques where only the part of the cornea that has the maximum weakness or pathology is transplanted or replaced with healthy donor cornea.

Deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) – replacing the upper layers of the cornea.

Descemet’s stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK) / Descemet’s membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) – replacing the damaged inner layers of the cornea with a healthy donor tissue.

Laser assisted keratoplasties – One of the few centres in the country to offer keratoplasty using laser precision.

Femtosecond laser assisted keratoplasty (FALK) and Femtosecond endothelial keratoplasty (FEK) – This technique involves a laser to customize the transplant with cuts at specific depths, offering higher precision.

Pediatric keratoplasty – Narayana Nethralaya is one of the very few centres in the country where the corneal transplants are also performed for children visually rehabilitating them at an early age. We have an excellent team of paediatric ophthalmologists and anaesthesiologists who join us to treat even the youngest of our patients.

Keratoprosthesis – Keratoprosthesis is an artificial cornea procedure which is required as an advanced treatment option for patients with corneal diseases unfit for standard corneal transplant procedures.
