Dr. Sushma Tejwani completed her medical training at the PGIMS Rohtak in 1999, then fellowship (2000-2003) at L.V.Prasad Eye Institute, further training for glaucoma at Mayo clinic, Rochester, USA with Dr. Arthur Sit in 2007. With her keen interest in research, she pursued and completed her PhD (2014-2022) from VIT University. She has worked as consultant at LVPEI from 2003-2007. She is presently working as the consultant and head of Glaucoma Services at Narayana Nethralaya-2, Narayana Health City, Bangalore since July 2007 and is also the NABH accreditation coordinator for NN2 since 2009. She has presented as faculty at more than 150 national and international meetings, has 42 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has also written few book chapters. She has been a part of 10-15 clinical trials as Principal investigator. She has been a reviewer of many journals like Journal of Ophthalmology, Indian journal of ophthalmology, Journal of Current Glaucoma Practice, Current eye research, Journal of glaucoma, Journal of cellular and molecular medicine and International Ophthamology Journal. She has received best video, papers and posters at GSI, AAO, WGC, AIOS, also has received IJO silver award (2018), DB Chandra Disha award (2017), WOS research award (2021) and Innovation award at Global conclave of Women ophthalmology world (WOW) and WOS (2022) Her chief interests are minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries, glaucoma shunts, Imaging & biomechanics in glaucoma, pediatric glaucoma, and molecular biology of glaucoma.
