THE STORY OF ARELI
“Areli”, is a Hebrew word meaning ‘The light or vision of God’ symbolizes our commitment and passion in preventing, preserving and saving our precious gift of God-Sight. One of the most disheartening sights to see is a blind child. There are different forms of eye ailments in children. Many at times children go blind due to late referral, because of poor awareness, lack of financial resources or poor reach of technology. Areli Gallery aims to raise resources for the underprivileged children who are not so fortunate to afford good eye care. With the money raised, Areli Gallery will sponsor, treat and visually rehabilitate blind children. Together we can make a significant difference by adding colours to their lives.
Mrs. Naina Shetty, founder of Areli gallery, a budding artist, passionately loves children and art. Through this medium she aims to help the underprivileged children who could benefit from advanced eye care and beyond. She is married to an ophthalmologist and is the daughter of Dr. K Bhujang Shetty, founder of Narayana Nethralaya Eye Hospital, and managing trustee of Narayana Nethralaya Foundation. Working with them, she began to understand complex ailments that can affect a child’s eye, including eye cancers. She decided to create this platform for like-minded artists aiming to contribute their paintings to support this noble cause. Let us support for this great cause together by buying the paintings of your choice and brighten a child’s life in hope for vision.
