| The goals of the fellowship are to train ophthalmologists to become competent in the medical and surgical management of cornea. |

| Application Procedure: Applications must be accompanied by a Curriculum Vitae and testimonials from two referees. |
|

| Duration: 15 months. |

|
|
| Session commences: In January and July each year. |
|
|
|
| Places available: One in each session. |
|

| Qualifications: MS / MD / DNB (Ophthalmology) or equivalent degree or Diploma in Ophthalmology with a minimum one year of experience. |

| Learning outcomes: |
|

Advanced training in medical and surgical management of corneal pathology, the fellow would become competent to evaluate patients in the cornea clinics, guide clinical decision making, and manage the disease independently, both medically and surgically |

Be able to use state-of-the-art diagnostic equipments and interpret data - Orbscan II z, Pentacam, Aberrometry , Confocal microscopy, Anterior segment OCT, Ocular response analyzer , Non contact Specular microscopy , Contrast sensitivity and Tear film analyser |

Assist and independently performRefractive surgery- Lasik , Intacs, Collagen crosslinking |

Witness and Assist in Boston keratoprosthesis |

Independently perform Pterygium excision with conjunctival autograft using fibrin glue and sutures. |

|

|
Independently perform corneal tear repair and cyanoacrylate glue application with BCL. |
|
|
|
|
| |
 |
|
Amniotic membrane processing and grafting |
|
|
|
|
| |
 |
|
Witness and Assist in Cultured Limbal Stem cell transplant. |

|
|
|
| |
 |
|
Eye banking – participate in eye donation awareness programmes, tissue retrieval and processing ( cornea and sclera) |

|
| |
 |
|
Contact lens clinic- will get trained in RGP, Rose-K, and Boston scleral lens |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| In the final 3 months of the program, subject to satisfactory performance, the fellows will be permitted to manage patients independently. |
